As many as 58,5 million tourists arrived in Spain on their own arrangement (1,1 percent more than in 2017), and 24,3 million with a tourist package (1 percent more). Most tourists were from the United Kingdom, 861.693, down 1,6 percent from a year earlier. German and French tourists are next on the list behind the United Kingdom. The number of German tourists fell by 1,6 percent, while the number of French tourists rose by 0,7 percent. The Spanish region most represented in tourist visits is Catalonia, followed by the Balearic Islands (16,7%) and the Canary Islands (16,6%). The number of tourists visiting the Balearic Islands increased by 0,5 percent and is close to the figure of 13,9 million. There were the most German tourists (33,7%), followed by tourists from the United Kingdom (26,7%). The third most visited destination was the Canary Islands, with almost 13,8 million tourists, but also an annual decline of 3,3 percent. Most tourists came from the United Kingdom (36,8%), followed by Germans (20,3%). As we can see, tourism trends in Spain are constantly rising.
