Around 25 to 30 Maoists were present on the spot led by Maoists’ platoon commander Mallesh. The exchange of fire lasted for around 30 to 40 minutes after which the Maoists ran away, taking shelter in the thick forest and river,” said a police official posted in Bijapur.The police recovered one body in Maoist uniform. “One 7.62 mm pistol with three live rounds, one INSAS rifle magazine with live rounds, explosives, detonators, wires, tiffin box bomb, spikes, Maoist literature and other Maoist material were also recovered from the spot of the encounter,” the official said.The person killed was identified as Moti Farsa, Ider area militia platoon commander of the outlawed Communist Party of India (Maoist).last_img
